Stanly County is the core of the Piedmont Region of NC. Only about 3 hours from the Smokey Mountain and around 3 hours from the North and South Carolina coastline and Beaches. You will fall in LOVE with the Hospitality and the Beauty of this Great AREA.
Two Lakes Tillery and Badin, Golf courses, Morrow Mountain State Park and Uwharrie Mountain Range, Reed Gold Mind, Dennis Vineyards, Oakboro Music Hall and Big Lick Bluegrass Festival, Locust Jazz and Art Festival(coming in 2006).
Sports in our area include NASCAR and Lowes Motor Speedway, the Charlotte Panthers, the Charlotte Bobcats and The Sting, Charlotte Knights Baseball, and Concerts at the Block Buster Pavilion just to name a few and all just minutes away.
Stanly County
Stanly County was formed in 1841 from Montgomery County and is located in the center of the state. The location makes Stanly County a great place to live and visit. It's close to everything, but far enough to retain it's small town values.
Stanly County is home to Morrow Mountain State Park, part of the Uwharrie Mountain range, and two lakes, Lake Tillery and Badin Lake. Albemarle is the county seat and largest city. Albemarle is conveniently located 42 miles from the state's largest city, Charlotte.
